Diagnosis, Treatment, and Follow-up
Diagnosis for disease is made through your physician. Treatment, prescribed by your healthcare provider, may include antibiotics or other medications depending on the type of tickborne illness.
If infected with a tickborne disease, you may receive a follow-up call by the health department. This is done with the aim at better recognizing the local incidence and distribution of disease, distinguishing areas in New Jersey where disease has changed, and promoting preventive education.
