Fire Prevention Inspectors Part Time- Uniform Fire Code
West Windsor Township is seeking Part Time Fire Prevention Inspectors (up to 24 hour per week) with responsibilities in enforcement of the NJ Uniform Fire Code, fire prevention, plan review, and other associated emergency services activities and responsibilities. Inspects buildings of various use to ensure compliance with State and local codes, regulations, and ordinances. Inspects buildings for proper and adequate means of egress as determined by use, design, and layout, and ensures that means of egress are accessible, safe, properly equipped and maintained, and meet the requirements of the New Jersey Uniform Fire Code. Prepares and issues orders to abate violations within a specified time period. Initiates procedures to have buildings, structures, or premises vacated, closed, or removed when life-threatening violations are found. As required, serves penalty notices, orders, rulings, and other legal process including notices of violations. Promotes community fire prevention activities.
Qualifications: Your Firesetting Intervention Specialist Level 1 (preferred). Four (4) years’ experience in a field associated with the fire service such as fire inspector, fire protection system installations, fire protection subcode inspector, fire subcode official, or fire prevention official.
Requirements: Valid Fire Inspector certification issued by the New Jersey Division of Fire Safety. Possession of a valid NJ State Driver’s license in good standing. As a prerequisite for appointment, appointees may be required to pass a thorough medical and psychiatric examination to be administered by the appointing authority.  Background check required.
Salary: Starting Pay - $28.00 per hour

EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS
West Windsor Township is seeking 2 full-time Emergency Medical Technicians. Under direction, responds to emergency calls; drives or rides an ambulance to a specific location to provide emergency medical treatment, provides appropriate and timely pre-hospital basic life support care and transportation of the sick and injured; assists in rescue operations; aids in emergency situations involving hazardous or toxic materials; maintains all related equipment, buildings and grounds; does related work. Maintains radio communications with emergency personnel and relays information appropriately. Documents all aspects of patient condition and treatment in designated EMS reports.
Qualifications: Possession of Hazardous Materials Awareness level certification. (Operations level preferred). Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support Certification. Tactical Combat Casualty Care Certification (not required at time of hiring, must be obtained within one year of appointment).
Requirements: Possession of New Jersey EMT Certification as issued by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, with three (3) years’ experience. Possession of a valid NJ State Driver’s license in good standing.
Salary Range: $40,632 - $58,812

Public Safety Telecommunicator I
West Windsor Township is seeking 2 full time Public Safety Telecommunicators (PST). The PST receives and dispatches all requests for police service/assistance by means of radio, telephone, in-person requests and dispatches the necessary patrols, fire departments, first aid, wreckers, utilities or auxiliary agencies as required and is responsible for the day-to-day communications of the Police Department. Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with all public safety personnel, members of outside organizations and the public, including individuals who may be are in differing situations while using various communication devices such as telephone, radio, walkie-talkie and/or in person is required. Qualifications or Requirements: Possess proper credentials for 9-1-1 Dispatch/EMD and be NCIC/CJIS certified. Plumbing Inspector
West Windsor Township is seeking a full time Plumbing Inspector. Under the general direction of the Plumbing Sub-Code Official, the Plumbing Inspector performs plumbing inspection work involved to enforce relevant public health laws within the jurisdiction. Inspects for conformance with the approved plans and the current adopted codes. Responsibilities include Daily inspections of all plumbing work, gas installations, mechanical systems and storm drainage systems to enforce relevant public health laws and current adopted codes; receive and examine plans for code compliance. Determine the cause of violations and cite applicable laws/codes so that corrective action can be taken. Qualifications or Requirements: Possession of a valid HHS (High-Rise and Hazardous) license as a Plumbing Inspector issued by the NJ Department of Community Affairs. Possession of a valid NJ State Driver’s license in good standing.

Utility Person 1 – Sewers
West Windsor Township is seeking a Full Time Utility Person 1 to work in the Sewer Department. Under direction of the Director of Public Works or designee, this position performs manual and unskilled labor work at Pump Stations and performs upkeep of sewer system including cleaning lines, cutting grass, hauling screens from wet well, cutting grass, watering, weeding and picking up litter; assisting in the operation of the sewer jet; drives truck, hauls and delivers materials, loads and unloads trucks with or without assistance. Under direction, this position operates, adjusts and regulates pump station pumps, valves and other equipment, and takes periodic readings. Inspects, cleans, and makes repairs to storm sewer underground system (inlets and pipes) throughout Township as needed. Performs routine emergency maintenance and repairs of all sewer associated equipment.Qu alifications or Requirements: Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in good standing or obtention in one year required.  Previous experience working in a sewer department.

Municipal Court Attendant- Part Time
The Township is seeking to hire a qualified individual to work under general direction of the Municipal Court Judge with duties that include providing first layer of protection for entire Court Staff and Judge by screening all individuals entering the court; inspecting and performing various safety and security checks of the municipal court building, including but not limited to ensuring various entrances and exits are properly secured and unoccupied; screening all individuals entering the Court facility; inspecting the metal detector and handheld wand to ensure it is functioning properly and performing necessary calibration; proving information on Court facility policies. Qualifications: Excellent customer service skills and communication skills required. PTC certified (current or retired). Must have a minimum of ten years of law enforcement experience (retired) or must have eight years of experience with one employer and must possess a four-year degree from an accredited educational institution.

Finance Clerk 1- Finance Division-Full Time
West Windsor Township is seeking a Finance Clerk 1 who is responsible for supporting the Finance Division and Office of the Tax Collector. The work is to be performed under the general supervision of the Chief Financial Officer and the Tax Collector and/or designee. Provides secretarial, clerical, bookkeeping and accounting support to the Finance Division. Greets the public at Finance window, takes payment and records payments, receive and sort incoming mail, minor and complex computer work and correspondence, collect and record tax sewer rent revenues, update and maintain various Finance spreadsheets, prepare deposits, post payments issue receipts. Qualifications or Requirements: High School diploma or GED equivalency degree, proficient knowledge of computers, cash handling experience, excellent customer service communication skills, office/accounting experience preferred. Fire Protection Inspector Part Time- up to 29 hours per week
The Township is seeking to fill a Part Time Fire Protection Inspector (up to 29 hours per week) position. Under the direction of the Fire Protection Subcode, the Part-Time Fire Protection Inspector reviews plans and performs fire protection inspections involved in enforcement of the State Uniform Construction Code (UCC), the Fire Protection Subcode and relevant fire protection laws and regulations. Qualifications: Valid Fire Protection Inspector license of the appropriate level, Industrial and Commercial (ICS), issued by the NJ DCA. High-rise and Hazardous (HHS) preferred.

Seasonal Laborers
The Township is seeking individuals interested in seasonal employment in Department of Public Works to perform various types of manual labor relating to the upkeep & maintenance of Township property. Responsibilities include: mowing, pruning, roadside clean-up, leaf and brush collection, perform maintenance tasks of road sides, parks, ball fields, grounds owned by Township including pruning, cutting, weed whacking, trash pick-up, etc. May also wash, wax, clean Township vehicles and equipment (including interiors), installs, maintains, removes snow fence, may performs janitorial duties at Township sites and other related duties as required. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; good physical health.
Schedule: M-F 7:00am-3:00pm
Salary: $15.00 per hour.
