Part Time – Registered Environmental Health Specialist – up to 21 hours per week
West Windsor Township is seeking a part time Registered Environmental Health Specialist. Under the direction of the Township Health Officer and/or Manager of Environmental Health Services, responsible for conducting inspections as well as the compilation of proper records of inspections, the collection of evidence of violations to responsible parties; under direction, performs the sanitary inspection work involved in the enforcement of relevant public health laws within the jurisdictional coverage area of West Windsor Township Health Department; related duties as required.
Qualifications: Licensure as a Registered Environmental Health Specialist issued by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services. Valid New Jersey driver’s license.
Salary: $34.16/hour

Mechanic’s Assistant – Public Works
West Windsor Township is seeking a full time Mechanic’s Assistant for the Department of Public Works. Under the direction of the Lead Mechanic, services, adjusts, and repairs various types of Township motor vehicles and equipment. Performs routine repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of gasoline and diesel powered motor vehicles and equipment including inspecting safety items, checking for deficiencies, changing oil/fluids and filters, lubricating and spark plug replacement. Repairs/replaces brake pads/shoes. Performs tire repairs, changes/rotate tires. Obtains, stores, and properly uses equipment, materials, parts, and other supplies. Prepares reports and records of time spent, materials and parts used, and work completed; maintains and produces upon request complete service records for all pieces of equipment. Performs light body work. Uses diagnostic equipment as needed to determine malfunction and appropriate repair. Performs other duties as required.
Qualifications: High school diploma or its equivalent and two (2) years related experience in the maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel powered motor vehicles and equipment. Possession of a valid New Jersey Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in good standing or willing to obtain in six (6) months. Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug and alcohol screening.
Salary: $46,365 - $67,155

Assistant Manager of Recreation and Parks – Recreation
West Windsor Township is seeking an Assistant Manager of Recreation and Parks. Under the supervision of the Manager of Recreation and Parks, this position will be responsible for management, operation, and administration of the Division of Recreation and Parks including planning, developing scheduling, and implementing year-round recreation programs for the Township. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to direct oversight of the Aquatic Staff including Pool Managers and Lifeguards and technical operation, such as treatment and sanitation of all pools as well as monitoring water quality. Assists with planning and administration of youth programs and special events and with park upgrades; quotes, RFP’s, and miscellaneous requests. Recruits, interviews, trains, and supervises seasonal staff as well as manages human resources documentation and payroll for Aquatics programs and seasonal staff. Acts as Manager in the Manager’s absence.
Qualifications: Degree in Recreation Administration or related field from an accredited school. Minimum 5 years experience in the field of recreation, 2 years of supervisory responsibilities. Experience in lifeguarding and pool management. Thorough knowledge of proper safety procedures.
Certifications: Lifeguard training; CPR for the Professional Rescuer; First Aid and Safety; Certified Pool Operator (CPO)

Seasonal Pool Manager – Recreation
West Windsor Township is seeking two (2) highly motivated and experienced individuals to fill the position of Pool Manager at the West Windsor WaterWorks Family Aquatic Center. Position requires overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring the safety of all pool guests, maintain proper water chemistry levels in accordance with health department regulations and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. Must be available from May 1, 2025 through September 1, 2025.
Required certifications include: American Red Cross Lifeguard Management, CPR, First Aid, and Certified Pool Operator.
Salary: $7,000 to $10,000 depending on experience.

Electrical Inspector
West Windsor Township is seeking a full time Electrical Inspector in the Code Enforcement Division. Under the direction of the Electrical Subcode Official and the Construction Official, the Electrical Inspector reviews permit applications and/or inspects all structures for compliance with the Electrical Subcode in relationship to Construction Permits issued. Inspects electrical installations in existing buildings for conformance with the minimum safety standards incorporated in the regulations of the Uniform Construction Code and relevant laws within the jurisdiction. Determines the cause of electrical or energy subcode violations and take corrective action. Prepares comments for contractors on code violations citing code references. Provides recommendations for temporary and final Certificates of Occupancy. Learns and utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and computerized information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
Qualifications: SDL experience preferred. Valid license as an Electrical Inspector of the appropriate level, High-rise and Hazardous (HHS) or Residential/Industrial and Commercial (RCS/ICS), issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.
Salary Range: $79,025-$104,512

Records Clerk I – Police Department
West Windsor Township is seeking a full time Records Clerk I for the Police Department. Under the supervision of the Administrative Lieutenant, this position is responsible for the maintenance of records systems; for classifying, coding, and storing official Police Department data used for investigative and referral purposes. Provides basic clerical/secretarial support; proficient communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with the public. Provides assistance to individuals at the Records Window with various types of record and report requests. Performs entry of motor vehicle violations, accident reports, and alarm permits; responsible for copying and filing accident report with the NJ Department of Transportation. Prepares and provides reports and correspondence to insurance companies, individuals, and attorneys. Maintains Patrol vehicle Logs, Motor Vehicle Accident, Operation, Investigation reports, and Arrest files. Provides criminal and/or vehicular records research via mail and/or fax, scan, and emails to all branches of the military, other Police Departments, all branches of the US, State, and County Governments. Sorts and distributes all incoming mail faxes; copies and delivers court subpoenas to the Lieutenants, Sergeants, and Patrol.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of office/clerical experience. Strong computer and communication skills, and the ability to work independently, accurately, and confidentially.

Landscape Architect – Community Development
West Windsor Township is seeking a full time Landscape Architect for the Division of Community Development. Reporting to the Township Engineer, provides landscape architectural observation, directions, and inspections for Township open space. Reviews plans for residential and commercial development and redevelopment for the layout of buildings, roads, and walkways. Develop plans for capital improvement projects in compliance with municipal ordinances and standards. Inspect construction for private development associated with land development applications. Manage and direct consultant landscaping firms as to responsibilities and priorities for all capital programs on public land, park, and open space maintenance and development. Provide for time accounting for billing of professional services against capital project and developer escrow accounts. Monitor Township community forest trees for infestations and physical damage, and respond to resident requests regarding community forest issues. Perform site inspection, review and process applications, and advise residents concerning code regulations and Tree Removal Permit program. Act as the Division of Community Development Liaison to the Environmental Commission, the Shade Tree Commission, and other volunteer boards and committees, as requested. Landscape Architect will also assist with oversight and management of maintenance of existing municipal open space and tree assets.
Qualifications: Degree in landscape architecture from an accredited school; demonstrable work experience; and licensed by the State of New Jersey as a Landscape Architect. Licensed by the State of New Jersey as a Tree Expert is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Office Suite. Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcView GIS, and New Jersey Municipal Land Use Law and Local Public Contracts Law a plus. Complete CORE training under the NJ Community Forestry Program within one year.
Salary: $81,593 - $107,909
