COVID-19 Update – September 3rd - Thursday

We had 5 new cases over the past week through Wednesday (Sep 2nd). Four of these are young adults while the fifth is from a household that reported a case last week. This brings our total positive COVID cases to 231 out of which 182 are cleared out of isolation. As people in the household develop symptoms, we expect to report cases from the same cluster in coming weeks. As I mentioned yesterday, with students reporting to colleges and schools, there is an increase in testing and possible increase in case counts.

The health officer recommends everyone get a flu test. Toward that end the township has arranged four drive up flu clinics. The first two are exclusively for adults 55 years of age or older while the last two are open to anyone over the age of 10. You must register for the clinic and bring with you a form that is available on the township website. Vouchers are available for those uninsured or under-insured.

We encourage everyone to get a flu shot this year. You can get the shot either at one of the clinics or at your doctor’s office or pharmacy.
