COVID-19 Update – June 12th - Friday

We continued our trend by having no new cases over the past two days. Four days with no new cases is our longest streak. Our total number of COVID-19 cases stays at 190, out of which 114 individuals are cleared and out of isolation. We need to continue our vigilance as we slowly go back to our old way of life.

When most of us stayed home during pandemic, the essential workers have done an amazing job of serving the community. One such group, who continued on the job, yet has not been acknowledged, are the postal workers and garbage/recycle collectors. The kids on Devonshire Drive gave a well-deserved recognition to these workers during the past week. A shout out to Zeeshan, Arna, Shrayya, Sauriya, Ritwick and Rachna for their thoughtfulness. If you run into your mailman and your waste collector, please offer them your gratitude for a job well done. Thanks to Nusrath Sultana for providing the pictures.

Since the number of cases is slowly declining, in consultation with the health officer, I have decided to provide update once a week on every Wednesday starting next week. Of course, if something out of the ordinary happens, I will provide an immediate update.

Tomorrow (Saturday) a peaceful vigil will be held at the West Windsor community park at 1 p.m. to show unity and solidarity with George Floyd.

Have a great and safe weekend. Please look for my next update on Wednesday, June 17th
