COVID-19 Update – January 8th, 2021 (Friday)
We continue our steady rate of new Covid cases. We had 58 new cases within the last week. This brings our total number of cases to 710.

The township conducted our first vaccine clinic this week. Thanks to all health department workers the clinic was a great success. This clinic was open to all workers in 1A category within Mercer county. The next two clinics for county will be held in Princeton and Lawrenceville respectively in the next two weeks. Any health care worker in 1A category qualifies to get vaccinated at these clinics. Several private centers and pharmacies have also received a supply. They can schedule anyone eligible for vaccination.
We have requested vaccine supply for West Windsor from the state health department. We will find out next week if and how much vaccine is granted to us. We have obtained permission to conduct a West Windsor only clinic for category of people allowed by the State. We hope by then the next category 1b (75 years and older and essential workers) will be eligible for vaccination. Once we find out, we will have a process in place to register eligible people. Please register if and only if you are eligible to get vaccinated.
West Windsor has purchased a freezer to store vaccine in sufficient quantity. The rate limiting step is the supply of vaccine from the state. We have system in place to use all our supply to vaccinate people. We are working as fast as we possibly can. We need your help to get everyone vaccinated. When registration starts please register only if you are eligible to get vaccinated. We will not maintain any queue for future vaccination. The health department employees are working incredibly hard, sometimes seven days a week. Please show patience and understanding if you don’t get a response right away. We have one of the best teams in place and are working cooperatively with our neighbors.
I missed Tuesday’s update since the health department was busy preparing for vaccination clinic the next day. My next update will be on Tuesday Jan 12th.
