COVID-19 Update – October 8th, 2021 (Friday)
During the past week West Windsor reported 21 new cases of COVID which brings our total to 1523. Our of these 21 cases, 5 cases were in people younger than 18. There were only 4 hospitalizations and no deaths reported in the month of September.

Last week the health department conducted a very successful Flu vaccine clinic at the senior center. The next two clinics are scheduled on October 21st (4 to 6 pm) and November 4th (10 a.m. to noon). You can register on the township website for either clinic. Both the regular quadrivalent flu vaccine (Flucevax) and adjuvanted flu vaccine (FLUAD Quadrivalent) will be available.
On October 14th and 15th, the FDA is expected to hold a meeting to approve booster shot for Moderna and J & J. On October 26th the FDA has scheduled a meeting to approve the Pfizer vaccine for children ages 5 to 11. Both approvals are expected shortly after the meetings. The health department is planning on both fronts working closely with the school district.
There are two exciting events planned for tomorrow (Sunday Oct 10th). In the morning the Princeton Junction volunteer fire department will host their annual pancake breakfast between 8 a.m. and noon at the fire company (245 Clarksville Road). The kids will get to see actual fire fighting apparatus close and personal.
In the afternoon at 1 p.m. the West Windsor Historical society will launch a self-guided walking tour of West Windsor’s Dutch Neck area which is rich in history dating back to its formation. The Ribbon cutting will be held at the World War II memorial (505 Village Road W). You can join the tour then or any time later using your smart phone.
