Per Diem Part Time Crossing Guards
West Windsor Township is seeking part time and per diem crossing guards up to 20 hours per week.

  • Possible Shift times on scheduled school days: 7:10am to 7:45am; 8:35am to 9:05am 11:20am to 11:50am; 12:15pm to 12:45pm; 2:40pm to 3:05pm; 3:05pm to 3:35pm.
  • Times are subject to change on 1/2-day school schedules and early dismissals. Times vary according to school.

Emergency Medical Technician
West Windsor Township is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician(EMT). The EMT will respond to emergency calls; provide appropriate and timely pre-hospital basic life support care and transportation of the sick and injured; assist in rescue operations; aid in emergency situations involving hazardous or toxic materials; maintain all related equipment, buildings and grounds; does related work. Aids victims at scene of emergency by administering emergency medical treatment such as first aid, CPR or EMT treatment. Performs rescue operations such as searching for victims, identifying searched areas, and guiding or carrying victims. Uses sound judgement to select best route to emergency scenes while driving ambulances safely and professionally. Maintains radio communications with emergency personnel and relays information appropriately. Documents all aspects of patient condition and treatment in designated EMS reports.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS, MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: New Jersey EMT Certification as issued by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, with three (3) years’ experience. Valid NJ driver's license with good driving record. Hazardous Materials Awareness level certification. (Operations level preferred). Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support Certification. Tactical Combat Casualty Care Certification (not required at time of hiring, must be obtained within one year of appointment). Medical Examination and background screening required.
Salary Range: $42,054-$60,870

Electrical Inspector
West Windsor Township is seeking a full time Electrical Inspector in the Code Enforcement Division. Under the direction of the Electrical Subcode Official and the Construction Official, the Electrical Inspector reviews permit applications and/or inspects all structures for compliance with the Electrical Subcode in relationship to Construction Permits issued. Inspects electrical installations in existing buildings for conformance with the minimum safety standards incorporated in the regulations of the Uniform Construction Code and relevant laws within the jurisdiction. Determines the cause of electrical or energy subcode violations and take corrective action. Prepares comments for contractors on code violations citing code references. Provides recommendations for temporary and final Certificates of Occupancy. Learns and utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and computerized information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
Qualifications: SDL experience preferred. Valid license as an Electrical Inspector of the appropriate level, High-rise and Hazardous (HHS) or Residential/Industrial and Commercial (RCS/ICS), issued by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.
Salary Range: $79,025-$104,512

Secretary II- Land Use
West Windsor Township is seeking a full time Secretary II in the Land Use Division. Under the direction of the Land Use Manager, this position greets visitors and handles in-coming calls and emails for the Land Use Division; assists the public with Land Use Code requirements; collects division fees; provides secretarial support for the division; performs Zoning Board of Adjustment secretarial related duties as required. Greets and assists the public with applications, Municipal Land Use Law and West Windsor Township Land Use Ordinance questions. Explains Planning Board/Zoning Board/TRC (Technical Review Committee) procedures to the public and outlines the nature of and the procedures to be followed in presenting a case before the Boards. Collects and processes Land Use Board applications, Zoning Permits and violations, including fees and fines. Updates Division database with information on applications, inspections, scan files and reports on LaserFiche. Independently prepares Division communications (including letters, memos, etc.). Prepares and advertises Zoning Board meeting notices including decisions of the Zoning Board with regard to Land Use applications submitted. Maintains all Zoning Board files including preparing reports, schedules Zoning Board and TRC meetings, attends night Zoning Board meetings as Administrative Recording Secretary as needed; prepares, maintains and transcribes minutes as required. Schedules meetings, gathers source material for meetings and reports, distributes notices of meetings to authorized personnel, attends meetings and take notes/minutes for distribution. Prepares Zoning Certifications, Division of Motor Vehicle letters for taxi owners, prepares and certifies property owner lists. Researches information pertaining to OPRA (Open Public Records Act) requests. Coordinates with Assistant Zoning Officer court hearing dates and maintain file of zoning complaints received by Division. Prepares and maintains purchase requisitions. Makes monetary deposits daily to Finance Department.
Qualifications: Three years of secretarial experience or equivalent education from an accredited college. Three years of experience in the application and interpretation of rules and regulations regarding local zoning and/or land use matters, preferred. Within one year of hire, attend training seminars and receive Planning Board/Zoning Board Secretary certification. Willing to complete land use courses offered at Rutgers University.
Salary Range: $44,905-$65,041

Human Resources Assistant
West Windsor Township is seeking a full time Human Resources Assistant. Under direction of Administration, this employee performs a wide range of human resources and complex administrative work consistent with existing laws, statutes, ordinances and other applicable regulations and Township policies and procedures. Serves as the Human Resources contact for Township Employees. Assists with the day-to-day operations of the human resources office and personnel related matters including but not limited to employee leave administration, benefits, database maintenance. Coordinates the full-cycle compliant and diverse recruitment process. Expected to work independently and exercise judgment. This position handles and protects confidential and personally identifiable information. Please note that this a confidential position is not represented by a collective bargaining unit.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and/or 3 years equivalent human resources work experience preferably in municipal government and or in a Human Resource position. Strong analytical administrative, organizational, filing and communication skills. Proficient in use of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite. PHR or SHRM Certification preferred.
Salary Range: $50,726-$75,589   

Accountant
The Township is seeking to hire a qualified individual who is responsible for the maintenance of the finance account system including cash receipts, disbursements, statement reconciliation, subsidiary journals, general ledger, various financial updates, and special projects. This position will maintain and process daily receipts from Trust, Current, Pool Utility, and Capital Funds, analyze accounts for the nature and accuracy of transactions, generate 1099INT year-end statements for Cash Performance Guarantee; work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, auditor, and Department Heads on all matters pertaining to the financial and escrow systems of the Township.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree preferred in accounting, finance, business administration or related field. Experience may be substituted for a college degree. Two years of responsible accounting/bookkeeping experience.  Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or working towards certification preferred. Valid NJ Driver's License.
Salary Range: $59,724.39-$81,070.97

Violations Clerk
West Windsor Township is seeking a Violations Clerk for the West Windsor Municipal Court. Under the direction of the Municipal Court Administrator and the Municipal Judge, this position performs municipal court clerical work with strong customer service skills, including the collection of fees related to traffic violations and payment of fines related to costs for the Township Municipal Court. The work to be performed includes, but is not limited to data entry and Pedigree entry into ATS/ACS, maintaining E-ticket entry report, operating video conferencing software for virtual court sessions via Microsoft TEAMS and ZOOM platforms and may moderate in person court sessions maintaining log of court sessions. Preparing, reviews and certifies daily, weekly and monthly reports, applications and other documents for accuracy, Maintaining document retention list in accordance with the records retention schedule, maintain court record requests and provide documentation in accordance with court rules and regulations. Other functions unique to the Municipal Court. Required to adhere to the Code of Conduct for Judiciary Employees.
Qualifications or Requirements: Sound personal skills to handle correspondence from the public, attorneys’ offices, and other state agencies via telephone, email, fax, and in person, knowledge of general office methods, practices and procedures, proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Word, Excel, Outlook, Video Conferencing software such as Teams and Zoom. High School Diploma or approved High School equivalency certification. Two years’ experience in clerical work. Experience with ATS/ACS, MACS, PcSAM, Page Center, Microsoft TEAMS and ZOOM preferred, but not required.

Secretary I
West Windsor Township is seeking a Secretary 1 in the Code Enforcement Division. Under the supervision of the Construction Official the staff member will assist in the code enforcement process as outlined in the Uniform Construction Code. Answer telephones, schedule inspections, review applications for completeness with checklists. Interact with public and office personnel. Update a database with new applications, permits, certificates, and inspections. Collect permit, violation, and sewer lateral fees. Create correspondence and documents using Microsoft Word and Excel. Maintain department files, including scanning of documents into Township database. Manage stressful situations in a professional manner.
Qualifications or Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) years of secretarial/clerical experience with excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner. Must have strong word-processing skills to include Microsoft Office Suite, Word and Excel; must be detail-oriented with strong follow-up skills.
