The Laborer supports the Department of Public Works. The candidate is responsible to load and unload trucks with or without assistance, operate chipper, chain saws, pole saws. Cut grass with small riding mowers and walk behind mowers. This also includes use of weed wackers, edgers, blowers, hedge trimmers. The individual should be able to perform manual tasks of maintenance of road sides, parks, ball fields, and grounds owned by the Township, including pruning, cutting, weed wacking, trash pick-up, ball field maintenance, etc. The Laborer is responsible to check fluids on Township vehicles and equipment; check and monitor vehicles prior to operation; property completes vehicle checkout sheet prior to using vehicle. This position involves operation of a snow plow vehicle; must be available for after hours call in for snow storms, etc. and other related duties as required.
