For disposal of railroad ties, landscape timber, pressure-treated materials, concrete, bricks, wood, construction materials, residents should consult the Yellow Pages under “Recycling” for a private hauler. The Mercer County Improvement Authority (MCIA) has advised that treated wood can not be disposed of at the semi-annual Chemical Waste Day. (For hazardous waste materials see section below.)
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Place at curbside in CLOSED cans or bags AFTER 6:00 pm the night prior to collection or BEFORE 6:30 am day of collection.
Garbage cans shall not be more than thirty (30) gallon capacity and not weigh more than sixty (60) pounds when full. Plastic bags or liners that are securely tied at the top shall not exceed thirty (30) pounds gross weight. When disposing of heavier materials, such as soil or grass clippings, double bag if necessary.

HOLIDAYS
There will be no trash collection on Memorial Day, July 4th, and Labor Day. Trash will be collected on one day only during these twice-per-week pick-up holiday weeks.
There will be no trash collection on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. Collections will be made on the following day (Monday through Saturday) for these holidays.
Regular collection occurs on all other holidays.
BULK ITEMS AND WHITE GOODS WITHOUT REFRIGERANTS
INCLUDED:

Furniture, bedding, white goods without refrigerants (washing machines, water tanks, etc.), large household items, small appliances, carpeting (max. 4 ft. length - rolled & tied).
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:

For large items and/or more than one item, call Central Jersey Waste and Recycling in advance, (609) 771-8005.
Put out with regular garbage for collection.
During twice-per-week pick-up period, bulk items collected on second collection day only.
WHITE GOODS/APPLIANCES WITH REFRIGERANTS

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:

Contact Public Works, in advance, to arrange for curbside pickup. Collection is twice a month, on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Items must be at curb by 7:00am the morning of the arranged pickup.
Doors must be removed from refrigerators and freezers before placing at curb.
Canal Pointe Residents: For houses, put items at the curb (same as normal recycling.) For condos, put items next to recycling bins.
GRASS

Grass Clippings only (no twigs, soil or yard debris).
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Central Jersey Waste and Recycling will collect grass with regular trash in closed plastic bags or containers. Please make sure that no yard debris is mixed in with the grass. Collectors will not pick-up under these conditions.
