West Windsor Shade Tree Committee to Host
Annual Arbor Day Celebration

Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh is pleased to announce that the West Windsor Shade Tree Committee will once again host its annual Arbor Day celebration on Saturday, April 22 at 10:00 AM at the Ronald R. Rogers Arboretum on the corner of County Route 571 and Clarksville Road.  The celebration will present a number of participants including the Community Middle School Girls Choir directed by Maureen Fernandez, Boy Scout Troop 40, and Casey Schoenholtz from Girl Scout Troop #1625.  Trees will be planted by the Green Scene in memory of Stephanie Au-Yeung and Gen Mors.  Seedlings will be offered to any who want one by the Shade Tree Committee and refreshments will be provided by McCaffrey’s Supermarket.

 The top three finalists in four categories of a Poetry Contest conducted by the Shade Tree Committee will read their submissions and the winners will be announced.  The four categories are grades K-3, grades 4 and 5, grades 6-8, and grades 9-12.  Cash prizes ranging from $20 to $80 will be awarded.  The topic of the poems is related to trees and all poems submitted are original work.
