NJ Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission to Assess the
West Windsor Township Police Department
Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh and Chief Joseph M. Pica, Jr., are pleased to welcome a team of assessors from the New Jersey Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (NJLEAC) to the West Windsor Township Police Department from February 10, 2007 to February 13, 2007. The NJLEAC is commissioned by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police and assesses agencies involved in this voluntary program.
The assessment is the culmination of a two-year initiative the police department has undertaken to enhance its already-excellent performance. The West Windsor Township Police Department will be evaluated according to 146 standards instituted by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, and N.J. statutory and regulatory law. Some of the standards are specific to policy and procedure, operations and administration.
In accordance with the accreditation program, the Mayor and West Windsor Township Police Department invite all members of the community to the Public Information Session scheduled for 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 11, 2007, at the West Windsor Township Municipal Court, 20 Municipal Drive. If you cannot speak at the public information session but would like to provide comment directly to the assessors, you may do so by calling (609) 799-3516 on Monday, February 12, 2007, between 9:00 A.M. and 11:00 A.M.
The telephone and in-person comments will be limited to five minutes and must address the West Windsor Township Police Department’s ability to comply with the accreditation standards. All standards are available for review at the West Windsor Township Police Department.
Anyone wishing to submit written comments concerning the West Windsor Township Police Department’s ability to comply with the accreditation standards may do so. Letters addressed to the NJSACOP, 830 Bear Tavern Road, Suite 303, West Trenton, NJ 08628-1020 should be postmarked by February 21st.
For additional information, please contact Accreditation Manager Sgt. William Bastedo at (609) 799-1222.
