West Windsor Task Force to Review Municipal Reports
West Windsor, N.J. -- Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh announces he has formed an advisory task force to review three reports that have been recently drafted or completed regarding implementation of cost-effective improvements for upgrading municipal buildings and related capital expenditures. Two of the reports have been developed under the guidance and initiative of the Environmental Commission looking into conservation and energy efficiencies.
Funded by grants, the two reports are a draft Climate Action Plan submitted in August by Spiezle Architectural Group and the other is a draft Energy Efficiency audit of municipal buildings submitted in September. A completed Facility and Space plan report, submitted by Spiezle Architecture in April, 2013, will be added to the other two for review by the task force.
Members of the task force are residents who either have specific skills and backgrounds in construction, architecture, and energy or who have worked on similar projects. One member of Township Council will also join the task force. The task force review will be coordinated by Community Development Department staff. So far, four residents have agreed to serve.
Mayor Hsueh stated, “I look forward to the task force translating the findings of the three studies and producing an analysis and recommendations of positive actions at improving energy conservation and reducing energy consumption costs with municipal buildings and operations.” The Mayor added, “For physical building improvements, the Administration is looking to use non-recurring, one-time revenue such as liquor license sales and no additional bonded taxpayer money.”
