Clerk Paula Sollami COVELLO and West Windsor Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh to hold Passport EVENT for residents
Mercer County Clerk Paula Sollami Covello and West Windsor Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh will once again hold a Passport Evening for local residents on Tuesday, April 7th from 3:30 pm to 7:30 PM at the West Windsor Township Hall located at 271 Clarksville Road.
The staff of the Mercer County Clerk’s office will visit the West Windsor Town Hall to process US Passports applications on-site for the residents of West Windsor and all other parts of the County. “I am so pleased to be able to offer this convenience once again to the citizens of West Windsor,” says Clerk Paula Sollami Covello. “I am delighted we are holding this event close to home in West Windsor to help local residents with their passport applications,” added Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh.
To apply for a US Passport, residents will need 1) Proof of US citizenship in the form of a state certified birth certificate, a US naturalization certificate or a previous US Passport. 2) Proof of identity in the form of a current drivers license or state issued identification card. A US Passport is valid for ten years for adults and five years for minors. The cost for a passport is $75 for adults and $60 for minors plus a processing fee of $25. Passport photos will be taken on-site for $15 or $10 for senior citizens. The Clerk’s Office will accept checks or money orders for payment. No cash or credit cards will be accepted at this event.
For children, federal passport guidelines now require both parents to appear in person -- or one parent in person with required documentation -- when applying for a passport for a child under 16.
Traditionally, West Windsor’s passport event draws many applicants. Therefore, passport applications and photos will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. Residents are encouraged to arrive early. Those who arrive within one hour of the closing time may not be processed. However, additional representatives from the County Clerk’s Office will be on-site at this year’s passport event to assist residents with their forms.
The Clerk’s Office will also hold a passport night in East Windsor on Wednesday, April 15th from 3:30 pm to 7:30 PM at the East Windsor municipal building located at 16 Lanning Boulevard.
In addition, the County Clerk’s Office is a sponsoring PASSPORT DAY IN THE USA, in conjunction with the US State Department, on Saturday, March 28 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm at the Mercer County Connection in Hamilton. US Passports applications will be processed on-site for residents at the Mercer County Connection, located in the Hamilton Square/Acme Shopping Center on Highway 33 & Paxson Avenue in Hamilton.
