West Windsor, N.J.  -- West Windsor Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh today announced that the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the Garden State Preservation Trust has approved West Windsor Township’s eighth amendment to its planning incentive grant for $300,000 in Green Acres funds.  This brings the total amount received to date from Green acres to $4,950,000.

The Township has already received $2,659,000 dollars from the Mercer County Open Space fund and $5,826,000 from the NJ State Farmland Preservation Trust Fund.  Total open space monies received to date is $13,538,680.  There are now approximately 8,000 acres or nearly 50% of the Township preserved.

Mayor Hsueh stated, “This grant is another example of the ongoing cooperation between the Township and the State for the preservation of open space and farmland in West Windsor.  We will continue to participate in all available programs to protect West Windsor open space.”
