West Windsor Township - Mayor Shing-Fu Hsueh announced today that West Windsor Township will not pursue the purchase of the Thompson property next to the Citizens’ Rifle and Revolver Club (CRRC) on Mercer County Route 571. Council President, Bryan Maher, announced at the Monday night, July 14th, council meeting that he had concerns the property could not be used safely by residents because of its close proximity to the CRRC. It also became clear to the Administration that use of the property could not be considered safe and therefore became undesirable as a recreational acquisition.
Mayor Hsueh concurs with Council President Maher and the Township Council regarding safety and liability concerns about the property. Mayor Hsueh stated, “The Township currently has over 8,100 acres preserved and will continue to use our Open Space Funds to purchase additional property where the residents will have free and unrestricted use. There are a number of other properties on the Township Open Space Plan that the Township is actively pursuing for preservation purposes.”
