North Post Road Sewer Rehabilitation and Detour To Begin
On or About Wednesday 8/29
West Windsor announces that construction activities for the rehabilitation of the sanitary sewer collection system in North Post Road will commence on or about Wednesday August 29th, weather permitting. Construction will physically occur in the section between Clarksville Road and Woodmeadow Lane. D&D Trenchless, Inc. has been contracted by the Township of West Windsor to perform the construction work for this project, which will provide for:
- Installation of a new HDPE sewer pipe within the existing ACP sewer pipe; and
- Replacement of the existing sewer laterals for those properties within the project limits, from the sewer main to the property line. These properties will receive advance notice of a required brief outage of water use when their service laterals are changed.
The construction duration for this project will be approximately 60 days, weather permitting.
As part of the construction, traffic on North post Road will be detoured daily, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. The detour route using local roadways will be posted, and the road will re-open to full traffic outside of those hours. The potential requirement for a prolonged detour time period when work occurs on the longer segments of sewer main, and/or work on one or two Saturdays, should be expected. Advance notice of such an occurrence will be provided, should the need arise.
A map indicating the posted detour route can be found here. Access for localized traffic, mail, refuse and emergency services only will be permitted. Please honor all posted detour signage and routes for your own safety and the safety of others.
All vehicles wishing to access the West Windsor Branch of the Mercer County Library, the Senior Center, the Post Office, the Police and Courts facility, and the Municipal Complex are directed to use Clarksville Road to Everett Drive during this work. Bicycle and Pedestrian access across North Post Road at Courtney Drive and Municipal Drive will be maintained, with brief outages when the work crosses this intersection.
